What a shame that a baby was allowed to die. *sigh*

Trust in God, but tie your camel.

Sad. But unfortunately, these people deviants still do exist and they will continue to bring pain and suffering into our midst.

But could this have a bigger impact on the current Republican debate if we were to push it? I thinks so.

The Republican Candidates want a debate on the sanctify of Life? Let us ask them questions about this case.

Is this a worthy case? The Child was in the womb and denied proper (prenatal) care. Are the Parents not responsible? Yes or No. A simple question.

Once the Child was born, did he deserve the best medical care that was available, regardless of His parents ability to pay? Yes or no?

Did “god” have anything to do with his death or was it basic Darwin and survival of the fittest?

Sucks to be a christian

As a Christian myself stories like this infuriate me. Needless to say (or is it?) the vast majority of Christians, whether Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, don’t believe this fatalistic nonsense, but agree that God gave us brains to make life better. Thank God for the sciences that have radically improved our lives, including my own, since I was born with a cleft lip and palate, and have been incredibly blessed by the surgeons and modern scientific techniques they used to make my life much healthier and productive than it would have been in an earlier age.

I find it amazing too that far too many Christians and sadly many of the new atheists are ignorant of the fact that many of the hospitals in Europe and around the world were established by churches for precisely this purpose.

It is my opinion that when something bad happens to a person and they say it must have been God’s will…They are in fact blaming God for their problems

There’s a book by Barbara Ehrenreich, where she describes meeting a woman who tells her about a time when she was living alone on a very low income, trying to survive in a new city.

She was having recurrent health problems, but having trouble getting medical professionals to take them seriously. Finally, as she explains, God told her to go to the hospital, and not to get a lift from anyone, but walk.

She walks several miles to the hospital, gets there and collapses, and they discover that she has serious diabetes and related problems while they’re examining and rehydrating her. She now believes that God told her to walk so she’d collapse and get some help, rather than being overlooked again.

If God can send people to the hospital for help, we can do likewise.

It’s ok to let a baby die of neglect, but not ok to use contraception or have an abortion?

Hypocrisy!
